Briggs

Hip Hop

Briggs is loud, complex, thoughtful, brash and flippant, often all at the same time. He takes what he sees, whether in his hometown of Shepparton, on the road or when sleeping on friends’ couches and simply turns it into rap music.

Since the 2009 release of his self-made, self-funded, EP Homemade Bombs, Briggs has been on the hustle. In a good way. He released a critically acclaimed LP, The Blacklist, he toured Europe with Hilltop Hoods, he toured Australia with the likes of Ice Cube, Yelawolf, DOOM, Ghostface Killah and Pharoahe Monch. He even made a kid!

But as we all know hustle alone does not make a career, one needs talent, and Briggs has that. It’s easy to make comparisons when talking about music, it’s easy and invariably misleading so let’s put it this way; Briggs is loud, complex, thoughtful, brash and flippant, often all at the same time. He takes what he sees, whether in his hometown of Shepparton, on the road or when sleeping on friends’ couches and simply turns it into rap music.

In short, Briggs is very good.

It’s the kind of music you were warned about made by the kind of person you were warned about.
