A little bit about the Festival

The Saltwater Freshwater Festival aims to celebrate and share our Aboriginal living culture on the Mid North Coast with the wider community and commemorate Australia Day as a positive, inclusive, family day for all communities to enjoy. Over 12,000 people attended the inaugural Festival held in Coffs Harbour in 2010 and last year the Festival moved to Birpai country in Port Macquarie.

About Saltwater Freshwater Alliance

The Festival is the brainchild of the Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance Aboriginal Corporation, which is made up of the ten Local Aboriginal Land Councils from Karuah to Coffs Harbour. The Festival is nomadic and will be hosted in a different community each year.
